    Get to know some of our newest Islanders:

    Nikita Soshnikov
    Position: RW

    Shoots: Left

    Height: 5’11’’

    Weight: 174lbs.

    Nationality: Russian

    Draft: Undrafted

    2022-23 Pre-season statline (NYI): 1G-0A-1P +0 (1 GP) 1 SOG, 11:08 TOI

    “Soshnikov is an extremely smooth and quick skater, and uses his edges to evade defenders and create space for his teammates. Has a very good shot and often chooses to shoot first. He is creative with the puck, and often opts for an extra move when he might be better off passing.” -Elite Prospects

    Soshnikov has spent time across three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2015-18) and time across two seasons with the St. Louis Blues (2017-19). He spent the most recent season playing for CSKA Moskva/Avangard Omsk in the KHL. He has played in over 100 AHL games and over 200 KHL games in his career.

He has also played in over 100 AHL games for both the Grand Rapids Griffins (AHL affiliate to the Detroit Red Wings) and the Charlotte Checkers (AHL affiliate to the Florida Panthers).
